Evano Oruvan is back!!

The Evano Oruvan is back in business, but this time in Hindi. Nishikanth Kamath roped in Madhavan for his third directorial venture along with some of Bollywood’s most versatile artistes to make one hard-hitting film on Mumbai. Mumbai Meri Jaan is based on the bomb blasts that rocked local trains in the great metropolis on 11 July 2006. The movie tells five different stories of people who were deeply affected by the bomb blasts. The cast includes genius actors like Paresh Rawal, Irrfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon, all of whom (according to reviews) have outdone themselves with great performances, something that a subject of this nature offers ample scope for. Soha Ali Khan too, maybe for the first time in her career, has received genuine critic appreciation for her performance. Madhavan has also done creditably well amongst the seasoned performers. Mumbai Meri Jaan is an offbeat subject that should definitely connect to the people of Mumbai. While at the other end of the spectrum, Ram Gopal Verma released his Phoonk. Touted to be the first ever Indian movie based on black magic, the movie has managed to garner more than a fair share of attention prior to its release, courtesy its subject.
