Dale Steyn who is a regular member of the South African squad has been out of action for the past few weeks due to a finger injury. He did not feature in the third test at Edgbaston. His fitness was to be scrutinized at the end of the third test. Since South Africa have won the third test match and with it the series, the management have decided not to risk Steyn for the final test. Steyn sustained the fracture in the field during the second Test at Headingley where he took seven wickets in the match and so missed the series clincher at Edgbaston, with fellow strike bowler Andre Nel covering for him. Nel grabbed the opportunity with both hands and bowled well. South Africa are likely to play the same XI for the next match.
