The series decider between India and Sri Lanka started off today in Colombo. India won the toss and elected to bat first. Both Gambhir and Sehwag started in brilliant fashion as they reached 50 in not time. Thats when the debutant Prasad got into the act. He picked up Sehwag with a peach of a delivery. Dravid and Tendulkar were his other victims. It was a dream run debut Prasad. Gambhir and Ganguly played sensibly and took the score past the 100 mark. Murali picked up Ganguly for 35 and the score was 151 for 4. After this it was all the Mendis show. Gambhir who was playing well on 72 was the next to depart. Laxman was once again fooled by a Mendis beauty. The tail enders had no clue in reading Mendis until Zaheer and Ishant got to the crease. They came together when the score was 198 for 9. They both showed the way on how to play Mendis and Murali. They played for twenty overs and added over a 50 runs to take India to a score of 249. Sri Lanka had to play a brief period of 8 overs in which they lost the wicket of Warnapura. He was clean bowled by Ishant Sharma. Sri Lanka were 14 for 1 at stumps.
