England bowlers take charge!!

Posted by Michael Scofield

The final test between England and South Africa started yesterday. This was the Test match where Pietersen was set to make his captaincy debut. His moves paid off very well. He brought in Harmison and Broad to strengthen the bowling attack and was playing with five front line bowlers. South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first. Smith and McKenzie weathered off the new ball but both of them did not seem confident. The first wicket fell on 56 when Flintoff removed McKenzie. After a short rain interval both Smith and Amla took charge. But this charge was short lived. The comeback hero Harmison picked two wickets in 2 balls to send Smith and Amla. After that the South African collapse started. Anderson also joined the party as he picked up Kallis Prince and Boucher. Panesar and Broad picked up 2 in the end to leave South Africa with a score of 194. Then England came into bat and did not have the best of starts. They lost opener Strauss very early to the bowling of Ntini. At the end of days play England were 49 for 1.
