Michael Vaughan's stepping down from captaincy meant that someone had to take the responsibility. The next choice was Collingwood but since he also announced that he will step down as captain from the one day side, the next person to turn to was definitely Pietersen. There was a big question whether Pietersen was ready for this post or not. But he has expressed his willingness towards leading the team. Pietersen will be leading England both in the Test as well as the ODI. Ravi Bopara has been named as the replacement for Michael Vaughan. Pietersen will be leading England in the fourth test match against South Africa. It will be a big test for him. Lets wait and watch how he handles pressure.
